Slow-brewed or from the espresso machine. With or without milk. Ice-cold or boiling hot. Relaxed sipping or to go. With a sandwich or with a piece of cake. At Hometown Coffee on Buitenhof in The Hague, you can enjoy the best coffee in the royal city, no matter how you drink it. What’s more, a team of enthusiastic baristas and a cosy but trendy interior will ensure that having coffee (or something else) is a very pleasant experience.

Whole latte love

A creamy cappuccino or an aromatic filter coffee? The baristas at Hometown Coffee know exactly how to make the best cup of java. With lots of love and skill, they pour the black gold for their customers exactly as they like it. For instance, they employ the slow coffee technique, making filter coffee by hand and based on various special methods, which brings out the best in fresh, fruity coffees in particular. But the coffee from the espresso machines is also too good to miss, especially when decorated with latte art: the barista makes awesome designs in the steamed milk. Coffee with a heart on top. How’s that for coffee made with love? In addition to coffee, Hometown also serves delicious smoothies, sandwiches, various teas and pastries. The many types of coffee and the range of other products can also be ordered to go.

New York style

In developing this new business, Hometown Coffee entered into a collaboration with Douwe Egberts. As part of Douwe Egberts, Jeroen Veldkamp, trend-watcher and multiple Dutch barista champion, was closely involved. He is of course completely up to date with the latest coffee trends. Hometown’s interior is the brainchild of interior stylist Thijs Murré, who also designed the interior of the Amsterdam club Jimmy Woo. He drew his inspiration from the independent coffee bars in the large metropolises: vintage seats and stools, a copper bar top and a retro couch that you just can’t wait to sink into. And the result? A coffee bar that looks like it came straight from New York. A place with personality, where you can relax, work (they have free wifi), eat or just catch up. When the weather is nice, the coffee is also served on the spacious outdoor seating area on the lively Buitenhof.

Those who want to learn how to make the perfect cup of slow coffee or create designs in steamed milk can find out about the tricks of the trade from Hometown’s baristas during one of their workshops. Are you interested in an ‘advanced coffee making lesson’? Then contact Hometown Coffee.
